Is God Real?

Get Connected

While there are many great questions in life, one of the most significant is the existence of God.

Who or what created the universe? Is there a god? If so, how do we know? It’s the granddaddy of all questions. Skeptics, atheists, agnostics, and even religious people have been chewing on it for years.

Because no one has perfect knowledge, like most mysteries of the universe, God’s existence requires faith. Even though we may not have all the answers about God, we choose to trust that He is real.

At , we not only believe that God exists, but that He is a deeply personal God, filled with love, who longs for an intimate relationship with us here on earth. We understand that believing in God hinges on trust, and that’s why we’re here to support your faith with four compelling ways we see and experience the presence of God.

Nature

Creation is one of the strongest arguments for God. Whether you’re simply looking out your window, using fancy X-ray machines, or gazing through a telescope, it’s hard to miss the mind-boggling intricacies that strongly suggest an intelligent design.

For example, did you know the earth is the perfect distance from the sun? Any closer and we would burn up! And when you look up at the boundless galaxies above, it becomes pretty evident that the whole idea of a random big bang doesn’t quite explain the awe and wonder of the universe. Now, if you zoom in on the tiniest cell in a human body and explore the complex DNA inside it, you will be floored. There is careful order in the largest and the tiniest parts of our world.

There are hundreds of other natural phenomena that reveal God’s power. God is speaking to us through his fine-tuned laws of nature every day – take a walk today and see for yourself! Creation has a lot to say.

human and conscience

Human Conscience

The very fact that humans have a conscience points to a master engineer. Man is born with a built-in moral compass, thinking in terms of “right” and “wrong,” evidence of a moral lawgiver who carefully embedded these principles deep within our hearts.

However, a randomly evolved process cannot explain the feelings of guilt and shame that we experience even at a young age. In a world where everything’s shaped by random chance and survival instincts, these emotions lack a clear purpose.

History

The Bible serves as a divine, historical document that reveals the existence of God. It’s incredible to see how this holy text has been faithfully passed down from generation to generation without losing its accuracy. Specific events, people, and places, including God’s Son Jesus himself, have been confirmed by secular historians. What’s even more remarkable is that despite having 40 different authors over time, the core message of the Bible remains consistent throughout its various books.

But that’s not all. We can also find evidence of God’s existence in the prophecies contained within the Bible. This includes some incredibly specific predictions about the life of Jesus Christ, which were foretold hundreds of years before his birth and unfolded exactly as predicted.

Personal Testimony

Thousands of Christians have radical stories of life change that can only be attributed to the power of God. It’s important to note that Jesus’ followers are not perfect, but it’s often evident that God is changing their hearts for the better.

While human experience is subjective, many individuals find glimpses of God’s existence through personal encounters. These might include answered prayers, indescribable moments of inner peace, and the ability to forgive, even in the face of adversity.

Belief in God requires faith, but, as seen in the examples above, our faith is not blind. Creation, history, personal experience, and human logic shed light on God’s existence.

At , we’re here to walk alongside you as you wrestle with life’s big questions. While you walk in nature, study the Bible’s history, and reflect on your own conscience and spiritual encounters, may God’s presence and love come to life.
