Easter Egg Hunt
This classic Easter activity is great for kids of all ages. Whether your family is toddlers or teens, everyone loves an egg hunt. Hide the eggs in hard to reach and hard areas for older children, and on the ground for littles.
Plant Flowers
Easter is a time when we recognize the new life that Jesus is making in all of us! Help your kids connect to this idea of growth and new life in Jesus by going to your local hardware store and picking out some seeds or seedlings to plant in your garden, or on a pot on the porch.
Jesus Washes Away Our Sins Science Experiment
If your family likes science experiments, this demonstration is a cool way to illustrate how Jesus washes our sins away. Just remember to be careful when working with kids and chemicals! Find the instructions here.
Make Resurrection Rolls for Breakfast
Dip a marshmallow in butter and cinnamon sugar, then wrap it fully with a crescent roll triangle. Pop your marshmallow rolls into a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. When the rolls are golden brown, pull them out of the oven and let them cool. Have your kids gently tear open the “tomb” roll and see that the marshmallow has disappeared, just like Jesus wasn’t in the tomb!
Wash Each Other’s Feet
Right before Jesus was arrested and taken to the cross, he washed his disciples’ feet as an act of humility and servant heartedness. Have your family use washable markers or face paint to mark up each other’s feet. Then fill a large bowl or plastic tub with warm water and take turns washing each other’s feet with soap and a towel. Remind each other of God’s love for you, and your love for each other!

Resurrection Egg Hunt
Resurrection Eggs are a great way to help your family walk through the stations of the cross in a fun and kid-friendly way. If your family does an egg hunt or an Easter basket hunt, you can hide these eggs as well and have your family gather them back up. Gather together and go through the eggs one by one, telling the story of the stations of the cross as you go. You can buy a set online, or make them yourself.
Paint a Cross
This easy craft can help give a visual to one of the most important pieces of this holiday: the cross! All you need is paper, masking or painters tape, and watercolor paints. Have your kids put a cross made of tape on their paper; it should be two pieces crossed in the middle. Paint around the tape with the water colors. When you are finished painting, let it dry and then remove the tape from the paper. The tape will leave a blank, white space without any paint. Talk to your family about how Jesus’ work on the cross leaves our hearts as white as snow!
Fill an Easter Basket for Someone in Need
Does your family know someone in need? Maybe a friend at school who is having a hard time, or an elderly neighbor? Fill an Easter basket with treats, goodies, and a nice card to encourage someone with the love of Jesus this easter!
Read the Easter Story in Luke 24
What better way to celebrate Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus than to read about it in the Bible! The story of Jesus’ resurrection can be found in Luke 24. Take time in the morning to read this story out loud with your family and give thanks for the miraculous work of Jesus on the cross! Talk about the significance of Jesus defeating death and why it matters to us as Christians.
